In 2114, scientists will be able to warp space time, allowing almost instantaneous travel between two points in space through the use of gateways. Improving long-range scanning technology meant that Keppler-782 had been confirmed as very similar to Earth in terms of atmosphere and temperature, and so from a long list of potential candidates it was chosen to be the “New Earth” which would save the old one and was appropriately renamed Salvation.

 

The floodgates were opened and resources and materials poured through to begin establishing colonies as quickly as possible as we sought to prevent a complete economic collapse back home. In an almost-impossibly short time, vast cities were established to house and sustain the flood of people escaping the dwindling quality of life in Earth’s suffocated metropolises.

 

However, old habits die hard ......
